Antares Doubtful for Derby Special to Daily Racing Form PARIS, France, May 14. Reuters. Ralph Beaver Strassburgers French-trained colt Antares is considered a doubtful starter for the Epsom Derby after his failure in the Prix la Forge at Longchamp here on Thursday. Antares, who was quoted at 25 to 1 in the last Derby callover, could finish no better than third in field of five. The winner of the mile and one-quarter race was Malatesta who beat Monceaux by a short head with Antares, ridden by Paul Blanc, a head further away. Malatesta is not considered of classic class so to have a winning" chance at Epsom Antares would jhave had to won Thursdays moderate event.
