Pair of Handicaps Top Ft. Miami Closing Card Uncensored Goes in Au Revoir; Keeping Posted in Come Again By W. A. CRUSE Staff Correspondent FORT MIAMI, Maumee, Ohio, May 14. The Toledo Jockey Clubs 25-day spring meeting comes to a close here Saturday afternoon with the running of the nine-race program headed by the Au Revoir and Come Again handicaps. The session has been plagued by inclement weather and it is only during the current week that any-thiny resembling favorable conditions have been enjoyed. The Au Revoir engages a field of nine, who will traverse -the mile and 70 yards distance. Three who won their most recent outings at this track will be in the line-up. They are Uncensored, Flaneur and Circulator. Uncensored, a five-year-old by Carrier Pigeon Barkantine, whipped Flaneur by a neck here on May 8. Flaneur closed fast in that encounter and came back in his next outing on May 13 to chalk up a victory. Earlier in the meeting Uncensored won a mile race by five lengths while entered to be claimed for ,000. Circulators score was somewhat of a surprise, for he was far back in his three previous efforts here. But in his winning effort, he closed with a good turn of speed to nip Your Highness by a nose at six furlongs. Bubs C. has been second in all three starts at this meeting and also was the runner-up in his previous outing at Sunshine Park. To say that hes overdue is putting it rather mildly. Turban was third in the aforementioned race back of Uncensored and Flaneur, but in his prior start gained a nose decision over Bubs C. Fancy Feeling was second to Flaneur in the lat-ters winning performance. Neds Choice showed to good advantage in his two efforts here and cannot be regarded too lightly tomorrow. Jofin and Stop and Think round out the Au Revoir field. Eight have been named for the Come Again, a six-furlong test for three-year-olds and upward. The Midwest Stable entry of Keep Posted and Ella Villa may reign favorite in this dash. Keeping Posted is burdened with topweight of 120 pounds, Which seems entirely justified in view of his two winning performances and a second in three outings at the meeting. All three efforts were at five furlongs, so he will have- to answer the question as to the six-furlong distance. Ella Villa was second to Brookhaven in her lone start at the meeting.- Others in the Come Again are Plenty Pep, a winner last out; Cathoy Valley, second in his last two outings; Cavalier Trim; Snow Wave, a handicap winner here; Sadalu and American Glory. Jockey J. Shoyat and E. Corrigans Gray-mont were the winners of .todays opener. Shoyat had the Contradiction gelding a good two lengths in front of M. Blackfords Scullys Boy to return a 0.20 mutuel and making it a front-running victory all the way. C. F. Bryants favored Mico Miss wound up a well beaten third. The second half of the Daily Double was also made up of a comparative outsider and Jockey R. J. Harding had D. M. Shorts Lucky Guy at the wire two and one-half lengths in front of M. W. Beckers Leaping Moose for a 0.80 return. It was D. M. Shorts first victory of the current meeting and the combination of Graymont and Lucky Guy, as a seven-seven sequence, was worth 31.60.
