Hammond Set for Saddle Debut FAIRMOUNT PARK, Collinsville, 111., May 31. — Expected to make his riding debut here the latter part of this week is Jerry Hammond, a 16-year-old 100-pounder who hails from Shelbina, Mo. Young Hammond, a brother of Everitt Hammond, a former jockey but now a local trainer, has been galloping horses the past four years and horsemen are predicting a bright career for the youngster. Dr. C. C. Kane, owner of a large stable here -and under the direction of Everitt Hammond, holds the contract on the prospect. Riding engagements lor the youth will be under the direction of Anthony Guciardo, whose immediate family are prominent fojrsemen on the Ohio circuJk . «, , ,
