Darios Rose of Serro and Albert Labriola and Neil Corciones Heroic Nun, track record holders for the half mile distance at Suffolk Downs and Lincoln Downs, respectively, will head the feild of two-year-old fillies in Saturdays 0,000-added Pinafore Stakes here. Despite the impressive performances of the above mentioned pair, the field for the 5 furlongs stakes is assured of at least 12 starters. At the moment, there are 18 of the 55 eligibles on the grounds and the event should go far in establishing the best "juvenile filly of the year in New England. Rose of Serro will be attempting to give Dario his second consecutipe fictory in this new stake. His homebred Dandy Blitzen took down toy honors in this race last year. At that time the Pinafore was open to three-year-olds and up over the 6 furlongs distance. Rose of Serro, a daughter of Errard — Forever Thine, by Whirlaway, was purchased for ,700 at the Saratoga sales last year by Dario. In five starts she has failed only once to bring back a check. This will be her second try in stakes company. She finished fourth in one division of the Hialeah Juvenile this winter beaten a bit less than two lengths by Bally Ache. Needless to say, Rose of Serro has already repaid her purchase price. In winning her second race here earlier in the meeting, she ripped off a half mile in :46%, after racing very wide "into the stretch. She definitely will be the one to beat on the week end. Heroic Nun has been idle since winning her only start at Lincoln in easy fashion, while equaling the track record of :47%. A homebred daughter of Ennobled — Par-chesi, she was bred in New Jersey. It was reported that she bucked her shins in this race and as a result has been on the sidelines eper since. Recent trials indicate she is ready for Saturdays test. While pre - race prognostications give Rose of Serro and Heroic Nun top billing, it is evident that they are not alone in aspirations for the top prize.
