Donn Family Re-Elected To Posts at Gulfstream Father, Son and Son-in-Law Get Overwhelming Vote of Confidence Special to Daily Racing Form MIAMI, Fla., May 13.— The Donn family was given an overwhelming vote of confidence during the annual Gulfstream Park board of directors and stockholders meeting. James Donn Sr. was re-elected president of the Hallandale track. Jimmy Donn Jr. was re-elected a vice-president. Fred Flipse, Donns son-in-law, was reelected secretary-treasurer and also named to succeed Peter Taylor on the board of directors. Taylor, a Tampa, Fla., insurance man, asked to be relieved of his post on the cboard in favor of Flipse. H. H. Woodsmall was re-elected a vice-president during the extremely harmonious session. Long-range plans for enlarging Gulf-streams clubhouse were discussed and approved. They are not expected to be put into effect until following the 1960 season. The stockholders voiced much praise for the Donns during the meeting. Donn pictured an even brighter future for the track he rescued from a swamp and has built into one of the nations leading courses.
