River Downs Sets Stall Confirmation Deadline Stables Must Reply by May 18 Or Forfeit Space Allotted Them CINCINNATI, Ohio. May 13. — Leon A. Slavin, president and general manager of the River Downs track here, is asking hqrsemen who have received stabling approval cards for the meeting opening May 29, to confirm their reservations by no later than May 18. Slavin said that unless confirmation is received and shipping plans made known by that date, stall space being held by these owners will be forfeited. He asked that all stables planning to race at the 44-day meeting be on the grounds no later than Wednesday, May 27. * Stall approval cards were mailed out by racing secretary James P. Ross Jr. some 10 days ago. River Downs has been flooded with requests for stabling accomodations and due to limited capacity of 960 horses many stables had to be turned down. Shipments are expected from Kentucky, Illinois, Louisiana, Hot Springs, and Ohio for the River Downs meeting.
