Nadir Clocked in 1:38 3-5 for Mile Slated to Compete * In Carter Handicap Cayan, Bald Eagle Continue , To Display Excellent Speed For Return to Racing Wars By CO STY CARAS Staff Correspondent BELMONT PARK, Elmont, L. I., May 13. — Caiborne Farms Nadir, who has demonstrated a definite liking for the Belmont . racing strip, worked over that surface this : morning, and turned in a most impressive mile stint in 1:38%, handily. Moving with ease throughout his drill, the four-year-old son of Nasrullah — Gallita, by Challenger II., was caught the first three quarters of a mile in 1:13. Trainer Moody Jolley is pointing Nadir for the 0,000 added Carter handicap, set for renewal on Wednesday, May 20. Last year the Claiborne racer finished second in the Nassau County and Woodward Stakes while racing against older horses. She may next be seen in major competition in the 5,000 added Distaff here Monday, May 25. Greentree stables Pop Corn, home from an unsuccessful invasion of Pimlico last Saturday, breezed 6 furlongs in 1:15% while his stablemate, Locoweed, was full of run during a half mile work in :47%. Trainer Harold Goodwin sent Tomike 4 panels in :51 while Goshen covered 5 furlongs in 1:00%, handily.
