Hundred Year Assn. of N. Y. Honors John Hay Whitney NEW YORK, N. Y., May 11.— John Hay Whitney, co-owner of the Green tree Stable, has been awarded the gold medal of the Hundred Year Association of New York. Inc., for "outstanding contributions to the community life of New York City.* it was announced by the association over the week-end. Whitney, who operates Greentree with his sister, Mrs. Charles Shipman Payson. will receive the medal at the associations annual dinner in New York Octobr 28. The 48-year-old financier, philanthropist and sportsman is senor partner in the investment firm of J. H. Whitney and Company of New York. Among his charitable and civic activities is the 0,000,000 John Hay Whitney Foundation, which helps citizens of the United States overcome barriers and develop their abilities to the fullest. The Hundred Year Association is composed of organizations taking part in the commercial or cultural life of New York City and is dedicated to "preserve, foster and perpetuate high ideals and worthy traditions that have been handed down through the years in the business and professional life of the city.*
