William P. McCadden Rides First Winner of His Career CAHOKIA DOWNS, East St. Louis, III May 30. Through a break in luck apprentice William Patrick McCadden, son of the late "Peanuts" McCadden who was killed several years ago while galloping a horse, left the ranks of non-winning jockeys when he substituted in the sixth race for the injured Leon "Bumpsy" Grandsart, riding Jake W. Sheridans First Four to a clever victory. McCadden, who was accepting his 32nd mount since beginning his riding career at Sunshine Park last February, will be 17 this coming September 15, can do as light as 100 pounds and was born at Detroit, Mich. The promising apprentice is under contract to C. W. Kendle who has several horses housed here.
