Early Commonwealth List Assures Topnotch Group Switch On, Lord Jeep, Sand Boy Likely Suffolk Downs Starters SUFFOLK DOWNS, East Boston, Mass., May 30. Although nominations for the 0,000 Commonwealth Handicap, six furlongs feature on Saturdays program, do not close until tonight, racing secretary Gordon Morrow was assured of a representative field of sprinters this morning with at least 10 nominations in his hands before noon. Sam Tufanos handicap star, Wise Margin, was scheduled to make his 1957 debut in the Commonwealth but has selected an allowance event on Fridays program instead. Although he was listed in the group of early nominees for the week end card, it " appears that he will pass up the handicap in preference to Fridays race, also at six furlongs. Others named at an early hour for the Commonwealth include G. W. Parkers Sand Boy, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Lingles Lord Jeep, Colella and Formas Switch On, Eddie Siravos Pine Echo, R. N. Websters Viscount, M. L. Stuckers Bonanza Miss, Peter Fullers Oclirock, Reynolds Bros. Navarette and Isaac Pricketts Noble Try. If Switch On accepts his assignment Saturday, it will be his first start since suffering defeat in the Lincoln Special when favored in that mile and one-sixteenth event. He nicked himself in that . race and since then has been taking kindly to light training. Pine Echo was returned here after a brief fling at Jamaica where he raced poorly in two events there. He finished last in the Wilson Handicap and was unplaced in a prior allowance test. He flashed his usual early speed but flattened out badly. Lord Jeep will be making his first start of the year here following a successful campaign at Maryland last fall. He was a steady racer here as a three-year-old last year, holding a victory over Motor Line to his credit. Burgoo Miss was beaten a head by Motor Line in her only local start in a six furlongs race, which was her first trip post-ward since competing in Florida where she raced creditably. Navarette won an allowance race earlier this week, drubbing Count Swedak and Charleston.
