SHASTA BOY, forced to race on the outside to enter contention, bore out badly entering the stretch, finished gamely when straightened out and, wearing down ALBERT BECK, was drawing away at the end. ALBERT BECK, showing good speed, raced SKY RHONDA into submission, drew away into a good lead on the lower turn, but tired slightly near the end. SKY RHONDA broke fast, showed early speed, saved ground entering the stretch and was going gamely at the end. LADY TICHNER broke slowly, but was going well at the end. STEINBUCHEL quit. MOSS BOND rushed into the lead shortly after the start, saved ground all the way and, holding on gamely, outfinished CAROM GAL. CAROM GAL, closest to the winner all the way, made a game bid in the stretch but rould not get up. HOME FIRST lacked early speed and, far back for the first half mile, closed with a rush in the stretch and was going gamely at the end. DIZZY B. showed a good effort. BALDY, rushed into the lead on the inside, was forced to the outside on the lower turn and held on gamely. WINGO, well placed in the early running, tired near the finish. THE MOON quit. NOVITO, under slight restraint while racing close up, made a game bid after going a half mile, but tired in the stretch. HIGH HATTER started slowly and, far back early, closed with a rush in the final quarter. THE CHOCTAW was going gamely at the end. CIIEHALIS showed early speed, but tired badly in the last eighth. The latter, outrun early, closed with a rush in the stretch and was going fastest at the end. ZENKA, reserved off the early pace, moved up threateningly in the back stretch, made a game bid in the stretch, but hung. MICA ROCK, closest to the pace for the first three-quarters, made a game bid for the lead on the lower turn, but tired in the final eighth. PRINCE BALLOT, far back early, saved ground entering the stretch and closed gamely. SHADY WOOD, knocked back when BABOO crossed over, was well placed early, but lacked speed.
