I LAT0NIA TURF NOTES : a Jockey Harry Louman was suspended five days by the Latonia stewards for rough riding astride Glowset in the fourth race Wednesday. Hal Price Headley announced that jockey J. Mattioli will be brought here from Detroit to ride Spalta in the Latonia Oaks Saturday. Upon recommendation of Dr. J. H. Reister, veterinarian representing the Kentucky Racing Commission, the horse Pompous Peter was excused from the eighth race Thursday afternoon. The latter ran a high temperature during the morning. Roy Yates registered the two-year-olds Burl and Miss Arcadia Thursday morning. The juveniles are the property of J. J. DeWitt and A. Edwards. Former jockey Jimmy Smith, who is training the horses of the Brown Hotel Stable, will send his charges to Dade Park following the close of Latonia, where the animals will be freshened up prior to their campaign at the Dade Park Jockey Clubs track. Saparoo, Ze.taway and Oriental Boot are the latest additions to starter William Hamiltons schooling list. Frank P. Letellier, New Orleans turfman, purchased the two-year-old Frank P. from Mrs. T. Poolos. The terms of the transaction were private.
