OWITCH got through an opening around the far turn to reach contention and, coming to the outside of the early leaders in the stretch, wore them down to win under urging. MERETA had good early speed, but was used up racing with RUTH G. and had little left. NOIR LIGHT came fast through the stretch. RUTH G. tired in the run home. QUINCY LADY, taken up when in close quarters after leaving the back stretch, dropped back to last place, then came to the outside around the stretch turn and, forced wide and bumped by LITTLE MISTAKE, tired near the finish. NIGHT BRIGADE soon reached a prominent position and, getting to the front in the stretch, had enough left to hold ALSISTO safe. The latter came courageously under hustling in the stretch to finish close up. CLIFTONS MARIE dropped back after breaking well and, although losing ground, came again in the stretch. FLASHING THRU, off well, easily raced to the front of OUR MORTGAGE in the back stretch to open up a lone lead and won easily. OUR MORTGAGE, althoiich bavins; the most early speed, was permitted to drop many lengths back of the winner when the latler cot to the front, then came strongly in the stretch and was gaining at the end. SIR SATIN closed well. LITTLE INA showed a good effort. TWO TRICKS tired. JOBIOSO received no help from his jockey and was never dangerous. SHASTA BANNER, forced to take up sharply rounding the stretch turn, came to the outside to finish well, and may have been best. ROTHERHAM lacked speed and seems .below form. TOPSY OMAR, in close quarters approaching the stretch turn, came to the outside in the stretch to finish fairly well. MISS GARNIER tired badly. SUN THORN also tired.
