KAVALRY JACK, easily best, was rated close to the early pace, took the lead when ready and, drawing away in the last quarter, easily held HABANERO safe. HABANERO, far back in the early racing, closed xvith belated speed in the last quarter and was going gamely at the end. FREE ADVICE, hustled into the lead shortly after the break, was under restraint while making the pace, but tired badly in the last quarter mile. WINSOME LASS saved ground on the lower turn, but hung in the stretch. GOLDEN HOLIDAY was well up for a mile. TIEDEMANN tired. AXIAL was always far back. ATHANETTE forced the pace . dropped back slightly entering the stretch, came on again in the final eighth and was going well at the end. RUNMILTON, sent into a short lead in the first half mile, saved ground, but tired in the last eighth. MANLY was going gamely at the end. COLD SOUTH quit. PROMPT RETURN showed brief carlv snccd.
