KITTYS RIVAL WINS IN ROMP Makes Show of Opponents in Opening Race at Riverside Park Big" Crowd Present. KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 25 Making a show of her opponents, Kittys Rival carried the Jones Stock Farm colors to a hollow victory in the first race, which was over five furlongs, and for two-year-olds that had not won two races in their career. Taking command shortly after the start, the winner gradually opened up a lead on her opponents until at the finish she was eight lengths in the van of R. E. Angles Steinbuchel, which raced in second position all the way and outlasted the Three Ds Stock Farms Favorite Child for the place. Favorite Child was driving hard at the end to hold the show safe from the fast-finishing Bob Bruce. The winner was held at prohibitive odds in the donations and paid but 2 to 5. Thursdays racing at Riverside Park was turned over to the cheaper sort, and claiming races made up the entire program. The weather was ideal for the sport and was thoroughly enjoyed by one of the largest week-day crowds of the meeting.
