I NEW ORLEANS TURF NOTES f Applications for stable room include: H. D. Cox, L. I, Chambers, G. A. Cook, Mrs. E. Drillon, J. C. Gillem, AI Gaal, J. W. Johnson, S. J. Molay, San Angelo Stable, J. M. Rector, E. B. Shipp, R. Rogers, Max Stein-buchel, C. Troutt, R. Whitaker, Wilbur Zieglcr and others, It was with regret that manager Eddy learned of the death of Col. L. T. Hay, of St Louis, former president of the Fairmount Jockey Club. Colonel Hay was a stanch supporter of racing. Early arrivals included Jerome Amend, Jack Sullivan, Eddie Griffin and Phil Amend. R. A. Leigh, Jr., assistant to his father, also camo in from Cleveland. B. Hernandez, who will campaign a string of twenty-three horses in New Orleans this winter which include stake winners at the Detroit, Thistle Down and Texas meetings, came from Houston and made arrangements for stall room at the local course. He reported that several prominent stables are now racing iri Texas and seeking stable room at the Fair Grounds this winter and they will include horses "which have not been campaigned in New Orleans heretofore. General manager Robert S. Eddy, Jr. was back at his desk at the Fair- Grounds plant setting things in readiness and announced that a decision on the type of camera-eye to be used this winter would be made next week. , W. E Snyder, prominent hotel man m Chicago, made application for stall room for six head, among which arc Catchall and Maddest, winners at Lincoln Ftelds. The others are precursor. Jubilee Jim, Advantage, and Hickory Lad.
