THOROUGHBRED BREEDERS COMMITTEE TO MEET OCT. 17 LEXINGTON, Ky., Oct. 8. Maj. llouie A. Beard, secretary-treasurer of the American Thoroughbred- Breeders Association today announced that president John Hay Whitney has called ,a meeting of the executive committee of tHat organization to be held at Keeneland on Saturday, Octqbenl7. Other members of the committee are Maj. "Carlton F. Burke, California; Admiral CaryT. Grayson, Washington, D. C.; William Woodward, New York and Maryland; Jervis Spencer, Jr., Maryland; Walter M. Jeffords; Maryland; Johnson N. Camden, A. B. Hancock, Hal Price Headtey and Thomas Piatt, Kentucky. The primary purpose of the meeting is further discussion of and perhaps action on the proposal that the association establish near Lexington a laboratory for experimentation and research of disease in horses. Major Beard will report the results of his investigation as to the cost of a plant, including fifty acres of land, and likewise give an estimate of the yearly cost for maintenance, operation and expansion.
