The latter, always within reach of the leaders, finished with good speed, but was no match for the winner. SANDY MACK had good early speed to set the pace, but tired. MINTHERA could never engage the leaders. KO raced evenly. SEEMEGO could not improve her position. NELL KUHLMAN, closer up than usual in the early racing, gradually bettered her position, finished fast through the stretch under mild urging, wore JAKE BLIEDEN down and was going away at the end. JAKE BLIEDEN had nice speed to take command immediately after the start, drew into a clear lead, saved ground on the extreme inside, but was quitting badly at the end. MELOY, away well, raced evenly and was wearing JAKE BLIEDEN down at the end. THE MINER finished stoutly after lacking early speed. HAPPY JESTER finished fast. SWEET EDWIN lacked speed to match the early leaders, moved up stoutly on the final turn, drove through between horses in the stretch and was going away under pressure at the end. RIDING HOOD, always in a contending position, moved up stoutly to take a short lead in the stretch, but could not withstand the bid of the winner. ROYAL RIVET, restrained in the early racing, made a determined bid in the stretch and hung on well. RIVER CREST closed some ground at the end. FORE ISUS, always well placed, disposed of DARK ROBINA in the stretch, but was no match for the winner. DARK ROBINA, sluggish in the early racing, moved up stoutly on the outside on the turn and continued gamely to the end. SWEEPFAST turned in an even effort. DIXIE DORA, taken under restraint until reaching the far turn, moved up fast on the outside, gradually wore down EASTER HATTER and held TRICKYS SON safe. The latter, reserved until reaching the final turn, secured room on the inside entering the stretch and closed very fast. -EASTER HATTER had nice speed to go to the front at once, drew clear, hung on well when challenged, but could not withstand the speed of the first two. BLACK FALCON, always in a contending position, dropped back throueh the stretch, but came on again at the end. LADY MARNOCK lacked speed in the early racing, but finished stoutly. OUR TROUBLE moved into close contention after five eighths, made a stout bid through the stretch on the inside, but tired. TEA JESTER had early speed, was taken under restraint until the final quarter and held on well under punishment. GEORGE E. MILLER turned in an even effort, but could never better his position. FASCINATOR, fractious at the post and breaking from outside the stalls, raced in a contending position throughout, but was quitting badly at tnc ena. ARBITRARY had nice speed to take command from the start, but bewn to fall back on the far turn, losing ground steadily thereafter. He pulled up lame. IDLE FLIRT quit.
