P0MP00N MAY START IN SPECIAL RACE AT LAUREL LAUREL, Md., Oct 8. If present plans carry out, Jerome H. Louchhcims Pompoon, winner of the Belmont Futurity, will be given a preliminary outing at Laurel prior to his impending engagement in the Narra-gansett Futurity, which is set for October 28. Racing secretary John P. Turner, Sr., of the Maryland State Fair, Inc., is drafting conditions for a race at one mile which will be placed on the program here on Saturday, October 21, providing it fills. Cyrus F. Clarke, trainer of the colt, intimated that the date would be satisfactory as it would enable the colt to remain at Laurel overnight and transfer the next morning to New England.
