ROCKWOOD, outpaced for the first half mile, gained fast when put to severe urging, came to the outside when moving up and wore the leaders down in the final sixteenth. BOULEVARD raced prominently under strong pressure and held on with good energy in the final drive. TONIANNA raced TIMBER LADY into submission in the first quarter mile, saved ground when moving to the front, but tired under punishment in the last eighth. COMPLIMENT, forced to race on the outside to obtain racing room, closed with good speed. CARE FOR raced well placed in the early running, but failed to threaten in the final test. ROLLICKER closed some ground. LIGHT CHATTER could not reach contention. TIMBER LADY quit badly after the open-,ing quarter mile. LAST HARVEST broke slowly. Scratched 31471 Idle Lady, 101. TRIPLE ACTION was hustled into a contending position in the opening eighth, raced along close to the leaders until reaching the turn, rallied strongly in the last quarter mile, disposed of GAY BALKO and out stayed THE SCHEMER under severe pressure. THE SCHEMER broke sluggishly, raced very wide in the early stages, circled his field and finished full of run. GAY BALKO displayed good speed while setting the pace, saved ground, but flattened out when challenged. MISS ADELINE raced in the first flight all the way and had no excuses. PRAIRIE PRINCE, slow to settle into his stride, finished gamely under pressure. LOCOMOTIVE lost ground in the last hall mile. JOURNEY ON was done early. TROSTAR had no mishaps. IDLE WAY gained a short lead after the opening quarter mile, met repeated interference from BETH BON and came out very slowly right at the end. BETH BON, kept close to the winner after being overhauled, fought it out stubbornly all during the last stages. BARTERING KATE followed close up from the beginning and continued with good courage under a hard ride. TOP DOG bettered his position gradually and made up some ground in the final drive. CALUMET DICK lacked speed to hold a forward position, but finished with good speed in the late stages. MY SURPRISE was forced to race on the outside, but closed willingly. GRAND DUKE tired after five-eighths. DARK WINTER was never a factor after breaking poorly. SUNNED and GREEK FIRE had no excuses. Scratched 33832 Infantry, 107. EDILE. away in the first tlight. was rated forwardly for the first three-quarters, wore down MISS JONES when reaching the stretch and, holding on stoutly, drew clear approaching the finish. SEVEN STAR was bumped and knocked off stride at the start by SYLVIA G., worked his way up fast from a rear position and closed with excellent courage. MISS JONES, breaking, clear, outnn her field for the first seven-eighths while being steadied, but failed to stay when challenged OUT OF FIRE improved his position steadily, but could not reach the leaders. POVEL raced evenly. MORUN showed good speed early, then tired. COPPER TUBE, away in a tangle, closed a good gap. SYLVIA G. was done after seven-eighths. BOOTLESS raced abreast of the winner from the start, assumed a slight lead in the last eighth, and fought it out willingly under punishment to the close. TWO BOB saved eround after being outrun, responded when shaken up and closed in determined fashion. KNIGHT WARRIOR broke slowly out of hand, settled into his stride and closed a big gap. ASHEN moved into an easy lead going to the first turn, was rated in front until reaching the stretch, responded to urging and had enough in reserve to stall off LADY CARROT. The latter followed in the thick of contention in the early racing, challenged strongly in the .last five-sixteenths and finished wearing the winner down slowly. FOGARTY broke very slowly, raced to the inside when reaching the back stretch, then came to the outside in the last three-eighths to finish with a belated rush. SILVERY CLOUD gained fast after leaving the back stretch and continued strongly in the final drive. LITTLE ARGO was under strong urging to maintain a contending position for three-quarters, but tired thereafter. JUSTA FLIGHT tired after three-quarters. HELEN BAB had no excuses. DUNA1R was never dangerous. SWEETBROOM is m no condition to race. He appeared very sore in the running and pulled up decidedly lame.
