The latter, off badly, made up much ground and would probably have won with better racing luck. STAINLESS ANN tired in the stretch. BELLE LE was off slowly. Won easily; second and third driving; TED HUSING went to the front and, at home in the going, opened up a long lead in the stretch to easily show the way to the finish. BUNTINGON also liked the going and came fast in the middle of the track through the stretch to catch YOUNG BILL in the last stride. YOUNG BILL was well up all the way but was in the worst going in the stretch. MOONFACE was started from outside the gate and lacked early speed, but closed some ground. PARADE STEP loomed up dangerously approaching the stretch turn but tired near the finish. MARGARET NADI quit badly. The others were always outrun. Scratched 433222Bess Cot, 100; 428873Mint Box, 103. PANATELA soon raced to a contending position and, taking command when NIM raced wide on the stretch turn, was going away at the end. NIM showed fine early speed and might have lasted but for racing wide on the stretch turn. SAFE PORTE made up ground under urging and was going well at the finish. CHECKS also finished well. GOODNIGHT moved up steadily on the outside after going half the .distance to challenge in determined fashion in the stretch, but was not quite good enough. WORLD OVER closed some ground and ran a good race. RUSH PLAY raced evenly. BOON TIME made a brief move around the far turn, then faltered. SUSPENSION did not like the going and quit badly.
