Whopper had his final preparation for his Wolverine Handicap engagement when he breezed a mile shortly after the first race at Detroit this afternoon over a muddy track in 1:45. Accompanied by Middlebrook and well in hand throughout, the Hal Price Headley charge was timed the quarter in :25, half in :50 and three-quarters In 1:17. Middlebrook was clocked the distance in 1:46.
