RIVERSIDE FINISH THRILLS Length and a Half Separates Seven Horses in Opening Tilt Jenny-Witch Gets Verdict; KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 17. Ideal weather conditions prevailed for Thursdays pacing at Riverside Park and another large crowd took advantage of the weather to witness an excellent card of eight races. The track, which had dried out rapidly from Wednesdays rains, was fast when the horses went postward for the first race. Eight races again were the offering and, while catering to the cheaper grade, the sport was keenly contested and the close finish in the first "race had the crowd on its toes until the off ical result was displayed. The seven horses that were in the field finished with only a length and a half separating the entire group. The winner turned up in Mrs. J. A. Pres-burys Witchmount filly, Jenny Witch, which came from behind in the final eighth to catch the pacemaking Tempermental near the end to win by less than a length. Tempermental held on gamely in the drive to take second place from Mr. Mickey, which in turn was another head in the van of the fast-going Vintage. Dicks Sunshine was another head back in fifth position, with heads sepai-ating Magic Baby and Opal M. D., which finished in that order.
