TUTTICURIO raced within striking distance of the pace, came through on the inside when HIGH FINANCE went wide and, gaining command nearing the stretch, held on stoutly to the close. HIGH FINANCE had peed from the start, was rated in front, but lost considerable ground at the stretch turn: and was unable to withstand the winner. CARAVAN QUEEN was prominently placed the entire trip, although unable to close any ground In the final drive. PROSECUTOR was well placed throughout but pulled up lame. SCIVA closed a good gap. JESSIE V. L. was sharply impeded after rounding the far turn and had to take, up sharply. LOTTA FUN was away slowly and raced far back throughout. YANKEE SKIPPER raced well after leaving the back stretch, took command in the stretch and drew out steadily in the final sixteenth. SUNDROPS, outpaced early, closed with a rush. SUNDAD, reserved, saved ground into the stretch and failed under pressure. SPEEDY SKIPPY finished fast on the outside through the last three-sixteenths. CHARWITCH was much used up in racing with MISS TROPHY and tired in the drive. BE THERE, well placed for the first five-eighths, tired in the closing test. CHATUGA could at no time endanger the leaders and tired badly. Won driving ; second and third the same. LADDIE STONE, reserved during the first three-eighths, supplanted HIGH MABEL from the command and held safely the closing charge of DEDICATION. The latter, away slowly, gained steadily, was forced to the outside at the stretch and closed strongly. MISS LEANNAH, reserved early, raced well to the final drive. BUGLE ANN, under punishment, was unable to threaten. HIGH MABEL raced well early, then tired. SADIE F. had early speed, then tired. WISE KING tired. LEGENDER, unhurried in the early running, did not start to better his position until the last five-sixteenths, came to the outside in the stretch and, closing with a rush, was up in the closing strides. ONUS trailed into the back stretch, worked his way up gradually in the last half mile and closed with good courage, getting up in the last strides to wear down STONE MARTIN, for the place. STONE MARTIN displayed speed from the start, withstood determined opposition from JAMES RIVER and had nothing left to withstand the closing challenges of the first two. JAMES RIVER was well placed early, gained a slight lead in the stretch but faltered in the last sixteenth. HICKORY LAD was unable, to close any ground. AMHURST, quickest to start, surrendergd the lead to TIME SIGNAL, swung to the outside when reaching the stretch, closed with good courage and was along inside the last sixteenth. TIME SIGNAL displayed good speed,- gained a daylight advantage before going the first quarter mile and, despite holding on gamely, tired at the end. ERB closed with a rush through the stretch. MARFEU trailed his- field until leaving the far turn, gained clear sailing on the inside all the way and finished with a rush. COMPANY was well placed for the first half mile, but "tired under pressure in the last three-sixteenths. . LIGHT CHATTER was alert at the start, but was unable to keep up. MAESTROM moved up fast after straightening out on the back stretch, wore down the leaders when reaching the stretch and drew out, winning with speed to spare. PANTHER CREEK, well placed and in close pursuit of the pacemaker, gained a slight lead when STEEL WORKER began tiring and, although holding on willingly, was no match for the winner. CATOMAR worked her "way up steadily in the last three-eighths and closed with good courage. KHAY, as usual, trailed early, saved ground at the stretch turn and finished with good courage. STEEL WORKER outran his field to the first turn and cut out a good pace for three-quarters, tiring badly thereafter. MOMENTARY raced to the front at once, displayed good speed hi pacemaking, faltering in the last quarter mile. MORPHEUS never could threaten the leaders. BLUE SPUR raced evenly all the way.
