1 AQUEDUCT TURF NOTES $ $ John Hay Whitney journeyed to the track to see his Endymion race in the fourth event Thursday. A fire between the walls of the front of the grandstand caused some excitement during the fifth race Thursday. The blaze was a minor one and no damage resulted. In view of the great interest shown in the steeplechase events at Aqueduct this meeting and the co-operation of the owners in entering their jumpers, John E. Cowdin, president of the Queens County Jockey Club, will add another ,000 to the Old Glory Steeplechase Stakes Saturday, June 26, to bring the two and one-half miles race up to a value of ,500 added. Eddie Coates, who has several horses here, is seeking the whereabouts of Louis Tabor, who is in the West or on the Pacific Coast. Coates stated that it was a matter of importance. A. Dunne, with ten horses owned by D. W. Butler, is due here on Monday from Latonia and will remain for the, season. State Senator Jerry Twohmey celebrated his birthday Thursday, but refused to quote the date, but pointed out that he was eligible for the social security. Trainer James Fitzsimmons will ship a draft of the Wheatley and Belair Stud horses to Delaware Park, but is reserving the main division for Empire City.
