MUD FAILS TO STOP FILLY Proprietary Earns First Purse at Agawam Over Off -Track Disagreeable Weather Conditions. AGAWAM. Mass., June 21. Showing, a good turn of speed over a racing surface that was expected to be a hindrance to her doing her best, Proprietary, from the P. Dalee Watts barn, was winner of the best offer.ng on a featureless card at Agawam Park today. The victory took place in the running of the sixth race, that attracted a half dozen older sprinters and it marked the first score of the Polydor filly here when she ran the distance in 1:14 over the dull track to win by a daylight margin over L. E. Hannons Bo Dean. Third went . to Eldee, from the Mrs. K. Laura stable, while High Treason led the two others to the finish of the three-quarters test. Proprietary, showing consistency in all of her local starts, was well backed for the race and with W. Cook in the saddle, made her presence felt almost immediately, despite the fact that she was better suited on a fast track. She raced along in third place while Eldee and High Treason raced as a team to the turn and keeping the leaders fror drawing a, second breath, was lapped wit" the pair midway on the turn. Kept on the outside to race in the better underfooting, Proprietary disputed the lead before reaching the stretch and shortly after found her way into the lead. Once in front I the Watts miss was well ridden and con-; tinued briskly to reach the finish with a : length and one-half as her final margin. Bo Dean took second place by a similar margin as Eldee passed High Treason to land the short end of the spoils. For the nineteenth day of the local meeting weather conditions for the matinee were disagreeable. Rain began falling shortly before the first race was called to the post, and by the fourth event changed track conditions occurred with the track being termed slow.
