BABY WRACK was always within striking distance of the early leaders and, moving fast through the stretch, wore down CHILNORE to get to the front in the final strides. CHILNORE showed fine early speed, saved ground where possible and went gamely to the end. PRINCE BALLOT lost much ground while making his move and finished close up. SANTA MARITA had the most early speed but tired. ZEVAR could not keep up. The others were badly outrun. SEVENTH RACE 1 MILE AND 70 YARDS. WAYALOFT went to the front at once to open up a good lead but had to be ridden out near the end to hold WAR DIMES. The latter came strongly after leaving the back stretch and was gaining on the winner at the finish. MYNAH was close up early and went fairly well to the end. DUTCHY was in close quarters on the back stretch. CAPTAIN RED had early speed. CAPTAIN DANGER refused to extend himself and was pulled up. Overweight Dutchy, 3 pounds; Ultra Vote, 3; Registerite, 1. LIGHT ZEPHYR was outrun for three-quarters, then came fast to find an opening on the Inside in the stretch and, taking a good lead in the final eighth, had enough left to hold PORT O PLAY. The latter was far back in the early stages but came with a rush in the last quarter and finished fastest of all. SARSITA showed good early speed and raced BUBBLER into defeat but weakened near the finish. BUBBLER had good speed. COTLO BESS tired after making a move on the far turn. BAR PLAY had early speed.
