OUT, in tighfquarters in the first half mile while racing close to the leaders, swung to the outside when engaging SPEEDALONG and, closing determinedly, was up in the final sixteenth. WEE CALL, a keen contender from the start, finished courageously under punishment. BAY STOUT began quickly, raced prominently and held on gamely in the final test. SPEEDALONG displayed good speed while going in her best form but tired in the final drive. KAI SOU was never a factor. MARINE MAID was outrun. TOOTHPICK, hustled into a contending position, rallied stoutly in the last three-sixteenths and, finishing full of run on the inside of the pacemakers when reaching the home stretch, came out smartly inside the final eighth. DISOWN went into a long lead, began tiring after five-eighths and was unable to withstand thie winner. SAKUNTALA raced forwardly under pressure and continued gamely in the final issue. MY GOODNESS, shuffled back at the start, closed a big gap. FRANK SMITH went evenly. KALEIDA was abruptly taken up when the break came and was never a factor thereafter. UPPERCUT was sent around the leaders on the turn to take a slight lead, but tired in the stretch drive, BEAU BON closed a big gap. FLOWER TIME could not threaten. JUSTA FLIGHT was outrun. BEST TAM, inconsistent but racing well, worked her way to the leaders readily, responded to punishment when reaching the home stretch and came out slowly after wearing LOYAL SON down inside the final eighth. LOYAL SON opened up a clear lead rounding the turn, saved ground but tired badly in the stretch drive. FOXO, forced to race on the outside, finished with good courage. ADDIS ABABA was unable to enter contention early. JUSTA PILGRIM, away slowly, settled in her stride and made up ground steadily. HAPPY HOST was held safe. ODD GIRL showed a flash of early speed. Won driving; second and third the same. , ACAUTAW, eased back when VEILSTAR was rushed to the front entering the back stretch, rallied to vigorous pressure and punishment in the last three-sixteenths, closed gamely between horses and barely lasted to outstay the early pacemaker. VEILSTAR had much speed to take the lead, responded gamely after being caught, came again on the inside and fought it out with determination nearing the end. CHILHEE, kept within striking distance of the leaders, closed stoutly in the final drive. HIGHEST POINT worked his way up on the outside and was going gamely at the end. TAMBOV was knocked back midway of the back stretch, recovered and finished willingly. HEARTEASE raced stoutly until moving into a slight lead in the final eighth, but quit badly in the final drive. FLYING AMAZON went prominently while saving ground but could not engage the leaders in the final drive. CRESTON was never able to threaten seriously. GREY MAN began tiring after going three-quarters. FAIR BILLY was unable to enter contention. BRED IN BLUE disliked the footing. RACKETEER had clear racing room on the outside but could not untrack himself. DIVING BEAUTY quit. . MISLED moved clear midway of the back stretch after shaking off BELOW COST but tired fast in the last five-sixteenths. BELOW COST was made too much use of early and tired. SPICY was permitted to drop out of contention after the start and was held safe thereafter. MORESORIS had no excuses.
