AGED MAIDEN OMAHA WINNER First! Six-Year-Old Lady M. Scores Victory of Career at Ak-Sar-Ben and Pays 7. OMAHA, Neb., June 21. Those fortunate enough to wager on Lady M., a six-year-old maiden, in the opening race at Ak-Sar-Ben Field Monday, were well rewarded, for that mare won and paid 7.00. Although ages of the animals entered ranged all the way from three to ten years, but one horse, Alberta B., had won a race ,and she was favored. Alberta B. met with much bad racing luck or she would have won. She was beaten by a neck by Lady M. The weather continued warm in Omaha today and as a result the good crowd attending the races were clothed in the lightest of wearing apparel. The track was fast. It was announced that Tuesday would be Douglas County Fair Day at the races, and some 500 boosters for that enterprise were expected to attend the race. A band will accompany the delegation and the feature race will be known as the Douglas County Fair Purse. Earl Beezley, who has the largest stable on the grounds, made another addition to his string Monday, when he purchased Carsono, a distance runner. The purchase price was not made public.
