WHOPPER GETS 130 POUNDS Mammoth Headley Horse Asked to Carry Heavy Weight Over Long Route in Frontier Handicap. DETROIT, Mich., June 21. Whopper, double stakes winner here, will carry the top burden of 130 pounds in Saturdays 0,000 added Frontier Handicap, main event of the Detroit Racing Associations spring stakes program. It is the same weight the Phara-mond II. gelding toted over a mile and a sixteenth in the Wolverine Handicap to an easy triumph, but Saturdays journey is at one mile and three-sixteenths and the heavy loads become heavier at a greater distance. He toyed with his field in the Wolverine, but in the Frontier he will be opposed by Count Morse, Finance, Azucar and probably several others expected to make the contest ver interesting. Count Morses package is 126 and trainer Frank Kearns notified racing secretary Webb Everett that the Calumet Farm star will be here. Finance, from Mrs. Emil Denemarks stable, comes next under 122 pounds and ha also will make the journey from Chicago. Azucars handlers decided not to test him over the slow track that prevailed for the Wolverine, but as the Frontier is expected to be his "swan song" to flat racing and the 115 is the same impost as that he carried to the finish within a half of a length of Whopper in the Col. Alger Memorial Handicap, he probably will start. In that race, at one mile and a sixteenth, Whopper packed 126 pounds, so the Santa Anita Handicap winner, which prefers a greater distance, will be getting everything to tempt him under colors. Walter OHaras New Deal, which is campaigning in New England, will get in under 114 pounds, and then follows Brookmeade Stables Corundum under 109 pounds. Carl S., the only three-year-old under colors in the Wolverine, which finished third, will carry the same impost of 95 as that assigned Siam, Grey Gold and Jackie D., the others of his age eligible for the race.
