DARK WONDER, brought over- rather sharply soon after the start, held sway-easily to the final three-sixteenths and, but for forcing ROMMY wide in the final eighth, might not have gained a dead heat, though she held on -well. DELOVELY, away fast "but unable to keep up, lost much ground improving her position and swerved to the inside in the final eighth. BRILLIANT PLAY tired in the drive. TRIPLANE could not get up. GREEN COUNTRY was crowded back early. PEBBLE M. showed a flash of speed. TOMMYS- LUCK, lucky to keep up early, tired in the stretch. AVIRAB began slowly and showed nothing. . PETTY TAW, hustled into command, continued with good speed under a snug hold on the turn, was shaken up soon after reaching the stretch and, tiring badly in the final eighth, won under pressure. ZORANA had speed from the start and, holding on well, was slowly wearing down the winner. TECHNOCRACY, under stout restraint for about three-eighths and mildly shaken up on the stretch turn, was inclined to swerve to the inside while racing evenly through the final quarter. BOLD BID held on well, OUR PATTY saved some ground, moved up weakly in the stretch, but faltered in the late stages. EXONERATE failed to keep up after starting fast. CORVUS lacked early speed. The latter, rated under stout restraint for about three-eighths, took command quickly and continued with good courage to the last eighth, where she tired. BOHEMIAN LASS, under mild pressure on the turn and strongly persevered with in the stretch, outstayed FESTOON, though she also tired in the late stages. FESTOON began to falter after a half mile. BOURBON KING raced into command gradually, but without need of strong urging, quickly increased his advantage after reaching the last five-sixteenths and, taken in hand in the final eighth, won with speed in reserve. HERMANA was under vigorous riding from the start and held on well in a fine performance. BLAUFUSS, well up from the start, lost much ground on the stretch turn, swerved badly in the stretch and otherwise might have been a stronger factor, as he held on well. TEDDY WEED, crowded back early, moved up slightly on the inside on the stretch turn, but labored badly thereafter. DIAVOLO BOY began slowly. EMPLOYER, taken back early, showed nothing. SIR QUEST made the early pace under restraint, continued willingly when under vigorous urging after about seven-eighths and stalled off BOSTON PAL. The latter, forced to race wide throughout, was reserved off the pace, faltered momentarily after being bumped by BEL ESPOIR when entering the final eighth and, finishing fast following a slow recovery, was wearing down the winner. BON CENTIME, well up from the start, was eased back when in close quarters on the stretch turn and was slow to respond when clear, but finished boldly on the outside. SPARTA, away poorly and much used up in the first five-sixteenths, following which she was steadied along to the stretch, could not get up, yet held on well and may have been best. BEL ESPOIR, well up from the start, came out suddenly in the stretch and tired in the last sixteenth. SILVER BRAID, under mild reserve for a half mile, continued courageously under strong pressure thereafter, but was no match for the winner. DAY DAWN, badly outrun for a half mile and raced wide, closed with fair belated speed. PRUM, on the inside throughout, tired in the stretch. ROYAL PRINCESS had no excuses. SUN ASIA, well up from the start and taken out after about three-eighths, was under strong restraint for three-quarters, loafed after getting to the front and, losing the lead in- the final seventy yards, came again. LAME DUCK, saving ground throughout and also a factor from the start, held on well after racing into command, but could not withstand the winner, though regaining the lead briefly in the last seventy yards. WATERCURE was under pressure in the final quarter and held on fairly well. INSCONA began to tire after reaching the stretch turn. FLAG CADET showed little. The others had no mishaps.
