The latter was bumped rounding the first turn, improved his position steadily and finished well. JACK FLY, a forward factor all the way, had no mishaps. AUDLEY GIRL was under pressure in the stretch. COUNT CLOPORTE had no mishaps in the running. WITFUL lacked early speed. GERMANS quit badlv in the stretch. DOWN HILL could not menace the leaders. MARY SCHULZ had a flash of speed. MASK AND WIG, away in a tangle, improved his position on the inside with a rush, saved ground on the turns, came to the outside of the leader in the final eighth and drew away at the end. .NIGHT TIDE taced forwardly all the way, was placed under severe pressure in the stretch and outfinished CITY JUDGE. The latter broke quickly, showed speed while saving ground, but faltered in the final sixtenth. CHALMAC closed ground steadily under urging. HIGH BLAME, fractious at the post, faltered in the stretch run. SPANISH MAMMON moved up in the stretch and then faltered. PEON had no excuses in the running. DICTY STEP was outrun. The latter "finished with good courage.- SNOW showed a good effort and finished well under urging. CLOSE KIN showed a flash of early speed and then faltered. KINGOO had no mishaps in the running. DIAVID worked his way up on the inside from -a slow beginning, finished with a rush and was wearing down the over-confidently ridden winner. MAGICIENNE was well up from the start, made a determined bid on the far turn and then faltered in the stretch. DAY IS DONE was outrun early and had no mishaps. CAPT.
