MAPLE TINTS had speed from the start, saved ground while setting the early pace, gave way to CENTERMARCH in the stretch, then came again through the final sixteenth and was up in the final stride. CENTERMARCH forced the pace to the stretch, took command entering the final eighth and just failed to last. BROADCASTER raced forwardly placed throughout and outfinished MARGIE LOU. The latter made up ground through the final quarter mile. TOKAY raced evenly. HAMMEL, away slowly, worked way forward between the field and pulled un sore. WESTYS HERO was never prominent. AVON-TIDE quit. IN FRONT was away slowly. WEE PRINCESS had brief speed. ALWINTOUR sprinted into the lead at once, was steadied along, then tired inside the final eighth. CRATAEGUS, shuffled back going to the first turn, worked way up steadily thereafter. BIG FISH set the pace to the final eighth, then faltered. HI-GINNY, slow to settle in best stride, closed with a rush through the final quarter mile. CUP WINNER made up ground.
