. SUPREME COURT RULES AGAINST T. J. MOONEY WASHINGTON, D. C, Oct. 10. The Supreme Court today denied the petition of Thomas J. Mooney, internationally-known labor prisoner, for a writ of review, and thus blasted his hope of obtaining freedom through court action. The high courts ruling closed a twenty-year legal battle. Moon-eys only hope for freedom now rests upon an, application for a pardon. Mooney, who was convicted of murder for complicity in the San Francisco preparedness parade bombing of 1916, now is serving a life term in San Quentin prison. The Mooney petition apparently was rejected by a six to two vote of the court. It was announced that Justices Hugo Black and Stanley Reed dissented. No further explanation was given.
