RAMROD began to improve his position after three-eighths, while saving ground and closed well, but could not get to the winner. FREEZE, badly outrun for a half mile, made up ground fast thereafter. MARGARET NADI, well up from the beginning and in hand for a half mile, held on well thereafter under pressure. MISS EUROPE gave way suddenly after showing good speed to the last eighth. FALSE CARD tired in the last quarter mile. BLACK BUDDY was through after three-eighths. NEDROW raced wide throughout. The latter, well up and under good restraint for three-quarters, rallied when called upon thereafter and fought on doggedly, but was not good enough. ROCKY PRINCE, never far back, rallied when shaken up after three-quarters and held on fairly well. DARK ROAMER, in hand for about five-eighths, was hard ridden thereafter and tired. GAELIC made up ground after three-quarters and pulled up lame. TAPSTICK tired after three-quarters.
