ELEVEN IN DIXIE HANDICAP Top-Flight Short Distance Horses Furnish Entertainment Today at the Fair Grounds. NEW ORLEANS, La., Nov. 25 The top flight sprinters at the Fair Grounds come to grips tomorrow in the Dixie Handicap, which will serve as the feature of the first Saturdays program at the local course. The Dixie, a contest of six furlongs to which a ,500 purse is attached, heads an all-around good card and indications this morning were that it would be presented over a lightning fast track. Jewell Dorsett, owned by Joe W. Brown of New Orleans, heads the list of entries and if she accepts the issue tomorrow she will be obliged to shoulder 118 pounds, one more than Frank Serembas consistent Fairflax has been assigned. Among the horses which took part in the Thanksgiving Handicap on opening day and which may be seen under colors again in the Dixie are Mrs. A. M. Creechs Gato and the Bedford Stock Farms Sangreal. Gato finished third to Catomar and Carvola after pacing the field more than three-quarters of the way, while Sangreal finally was pulled up after having been carried very wide and eliminated on the first turn. Some of the other speedsters to be found in the Dixie field are Grey Streak, a stable companion of Gato; Mrs. V. Wyses Bachelor Dinner, Mrs. J. A. Nix Woodsaw and H. M. Babylons Brown Prince. The claiming clause is attached to the conditions of the other races on Saturdays program, but several of them are designed for better grade platers and should produce racing of an interesting nature. The field for the Dixie Handicap, together with post positions, weights and probable riders, follows: PP. Horse. Wt. Jockey. 1 Woodsaw 106 S. Williams 2 Joanny 97.... M. Calvert 3 tGrey Streak 102..
