THE HEALEYS AND HEALYS Three Families of Horsemen and Not Related Are Expected at Hialeah Park This Winter. MIAMI, Fla., Nov. 25 The Healeys and Healys are here again, one family monicker possessing two "es" and the other but one "e." Both Thomas J. Healey and his son, Jack, and James W. "Big Jim" Healy maintain winter homes in Miami Beach, and are identified with Hialeah racing. When J. Simon and his brother, Joe Healy, also spelled with one "e," arrive at Hialeah, tho Healys and Healeys will have been oficially assembled. The three families are in no way related. Thomas J. Healey, prior to his retirement, trained for such famous sportsmen as R. T. Wilson, Harry Payne Whitney and his son, Cornelius Vanderbilt Whitney. Last winter at Hialeah, the urge to again see his own colors, became too strong, and he assembled a small stable, which he placed in charge of his son Jack, who has been following successfully in dads footsteps. Jack came on from Baltimore with ten horses, namely Magicienne and False Point, three-year-old fillies; Poesy and American Daisy, two-year-old fillies; Istanbul and Sun Shaft, two-year-old colts, and four yearlings. "Big Jim" Healy, head trainer for John. Hay Whitney, has taken over three head for F. J. Buchanan at Hialeah. These are My Porter, two-year-old colt; Nanahcub Buchanan spelled backward , two-year-old filly, and Now Then, three-year-old colt. "Big Jims" father, James Healy, is a famous New York trainer, more recently identified with Mrs. F. Ambrose Clarks stable of jumpers. And to complete the story, it might be added that J. Simon Healy has a son, Paul Healy, who also is carrying on the family name in thoroughbred circles.
