BOWIE TURF NOTES $ George A. Cook reported Wednesday that he will ship six horses to Charles Town for that meeting. W. D. Carroll has taken a call on the services of jockey H. Dupuy, who rode at Hot Springs. At the conclusion of this meeting general manager A. J. Boyle will motor to Lexington, Ky., to confer with racing secretary Fred Burton regarding the condition book for Charles Town. The stewards ordered He Goes scratched from the second race. The colt was found ineligible due to the fact that his dam was not served in Maryland. Trainer Al Weston reported that his Persuasive was cut down in his race Tuesday and will be onthe shelf for some time. "Buster" Bedwell reported that jockey Polk is in good condition to ride. The boy fell Tuesday. Jockey R. Workman made his first appearance under colors Wednesday afternoon. J. B. Belk, Virginia owner and breeder, reported today that he would apply for the names Kit and Duplicate for yearling twins that he has at his nursery. Snobbish Lady, a starter in the first race Wednesday, is a full sister to the juveniles. The weight on Springs Here in the last race Tuesday was corrected. The plater carried 110 pounds, as against the 106 sent out. A draft of the Yancey Christmas two-year-olds were schooled from the starting gate Wednesday morning. It was their first experience in the stalls. Paul Codd stopped off for the day and reported that he had shipped all but three of his horses from Tropical Park to Jamaica. The others are due at the Metropolitan course following the close of the Florida season.
