I TROPICAL PARK TURF NOTES . - W. R. Dahlstrom, assistant clerk of the scales at Tropical, will leave after the close of the meeting for Narragansett Park. He will assist in getting things in readiness for the opening of the meeting. S. D. Hudson received word from the Cleveland Jockey Club of his appointment as track superintendent at North Randall. Patrick C. Galliger, placing judge at Tropical Park, plans to be in Toronto, Canada, April 14 and 15 to shape plans for the spring and summer meetings on the Incorporated Canadian Racing Association circuit Thomas A. Steele will leave Miami Tuesday, according to present arrangements, to cover advance work for racing secretary Robert S. Shelley, at Narragansett Park. Steele is one of the placing judges at Tropical Park. W. T. Trenholme, well-known breeder and racing enthusiast of Montreal, Canada, was a spectator at Tropical Park Wednesday. Mr. Trenholme arrived from Havana, Cuba. Robert S. Shelley, racing secretary, proudly displayed a desk organizer that was presented to him by the office force of the racing department at Tropical Park Tuesday. The attractive gift was placed upon his desk before the running of the first race. W. R. Sallee directed the shipment of fifteen horses for Beulah Park in Ohio, early Tuesday morning. The loading of the horses was made at the platform at Hialeah Park. A delegation of well-known Chicagoans are expected from the Windy City following the elections late Tuesday to attend the final days of racing of the Gables Racing Association. Jack Adler, an official of the Miami Jockey Club, departs on Saturday for New York to await the opening of the Metropolitan racing season in the Empire State. Two carloads of horses, listed for Belmont Park, pulled away from the loading chute at Hialeah Park late Tuesday night. The shipment embraced the horses trained by Jack A. Healey, A. G. Robertson and Maj. T. H. McCreery. Capt. Edward Kelley, who polices tracks in the Chicago area with the exception of Arlington Park, is expected to arrive here Thursday for a vacation. Jockey Alfred Robertson, contract rider for the Milky Way Farm stable of Mrs. Ethel V. Mars, checked in from Hot Springs, Ark., to recuperate from a recent injury suffered at the Vapor City track. Robertson is attending the racing at Tropical Park in company with his father, who has a useful stable on the grounds. Otto Torrell is distributing condition books for the meeting to be staged at Ak-Sar-Ben in Nebraska.
