I CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES s s J. D. Larkin asked for stalls for three horses. The trio is in New Orleans. Nick Burger brought six horses from the New Orleans Fair Grounds, but two of them, Barbara J. and Lady Briar, were sent to the Golden Maxim Farm to be turned out. The others were Quick Quick, Mary Van Buren, Zipaway and Kapena. Burger said he also would take up Frank Ormont, turned out since last year, within a few days. Jockey Nick Spine was one of the latest riders to put in an appearance at the Downs. Frank Abbate and James Emery, Chicago owners, have made reservations for the stables they expect to race at Churchill Downs this spring. Among the latest arrivals at Douglas Park is G. B. Scallon, who brought six horses from Dallas Texas. Jack Newman sent word from Chicago that he is transferring four head to Louisville some time this week. The three horses which R. D. Williams raced at Oaklawn Park arrived at Churchill Downs after an uneventful trip. The horses are Vanwind, Van Tryst and Van Fairy Williams went on through to Lexington but may be back here before the end of the week. Intrip and Ripplealong, which J. F ONeil sent to Oaklawn Park for several engagements, returned to the ONeil stable at Churchill Downs. ONeil said Intrip was injured in her last engagement but not very seriously. Intrip was a winner at Hot Springs and those who supported her in the mutuels were paid off in box car figures. John Marsch, of Chicago, who has a number of horses in training at Churchill Downs under Roscoe Goose, may be in Louisville before the end of the week. F. H. Carpenter is due here within the next few days with Cross Ruff and Overplay, which raced through the Hot Springs season.
