I KEENELAND TURF NOTES I j - George Brooks, trainer of the Shady Brook Farm, motored over from Louisville where he has his charges quartered at Churchill Downs, to make arrangements for accommodations for several of his string which he plans to race during the Keeneland meeting. Keene Daingerfield, Jr., has one of the largest crops of juveniles at Keeneland- at present, the outfit numbering thirteen youngsters, but the Kentuckian isnt superstitious. There are eight older horses in the string, boosting the outfit to twenty-one in all. A grey juvenile filly by Man o War Alice Blue Gown is commanding the attention of the work-watchers at the Keeneland course. The youngster is well made and while she has not been set down to a real speed test her training is well advanced and she is regarded as one of the best prospect3 of the young crop here. Charlie Gentry was an addition to the rapidly growing racing colony here. Gentry brought in three horses that he raced in New Orleans during the winter for Mrs. A. E. Rotelli. Former jockey Eddie Barnes, who has a division of the Bomar Stable here for campaigning, has had ample time to get his charges in fine fettle for the opening of the 1939 season in the Blue Grass section. Among Barnes charges are Biscayne Blue, Gold Band and Noble Boy. Jockey Bill Garner was a visitor at Keeneland, returning to Churchill Downs where ha is assisting George Brooks with the preparation of the Shady Brook Farm horses, which were campaigned in Florida during the winter and includes the Kentucky Derby candidate, Timeful.
