TANFORAN TURF NOTES Mrs. W. J. Potter purchased the four-year-old colt, Ovlop, from Mrs. J. A. Casson, at private terms. W. J. Potter will continue to train the colt. Jockey E. Neal arrived from Agua Cali-ente over the week-end. Neal will ride free lance at both Tanforan and Bay Meadows. Trainer L. Helton replaces E. Jelly as trainer for the horses of D. E. Foster. The Foster stable consists of Foolem, Hunterdon, Bold Lad and Danke Schon. C. Whittingham purchased a half interest In the four-year-old colt Home Burning from H. W. Hall. Whittingham will train the colt. Grey Nurse and Mill Rose have been approved by Eddie Thomas to start. Day Dawn, Empress Pelota and Orientalist have been passed on by the track veterinarian and will be permitted to start. A. J. Maloney vanned up three head from the Mexican track. They are Torquil, Lisa Belle and Double Kerry. Trainer F. A. Sharkey checked in with two head for P. Heim, Jr., from Agua Cali-ente, namely, Radio Hour and Pink Post. J. Leighton arrived with one horse from Caliente, Young Ward, the property of J. McDowell. Galapas, clever double handicap winner at Tanforan, heads the list of nominations for the ,000 added Marchbank Handicap, to! be run April 22, closing day of the meeting. Fourteen horses have been named and Charles S. Howard, owner of Galapas, heads the list of nominators with three. The others are Advocator, inconsistent distance runner, and Chanceview, fine slow-track horse. Others in the field are Enchanted, which finished a bang-up second to Galapas in the Kings Mountain Handicap Saturday; Ess jay-tee and VTild Turkey, trained by-Boots Dur-nell; Sweepalot and Masker, the Harry Cur-land pair;Falerno and Bachiller, a couple of South Americans, as well as Congressman, Stands Alone, Count Atlas and Best Beau. General manager Bill Kyne announced over the week-end that negotiations to sell his Decoration Day date to Hollywood Park had been dropped and that the Bay Meadows meeting would be concluded on the holiday. The day before Decoration Day, a Monday, will also see racing at the Kyne track. It will be Charity Day and the only charity day held in the San Francisco district this spring. Bay Meadows will open Thursday, April 27, and close May 30. There will be no racing Mondays with the exception of Charity Day. It develops that the good three-year-old Bubbling Boy wrenched his knee in a recent race and will be on the shelf for some time. Bubbling Boy is owned by Mrs. T. Loeff. The Tanforan horse ranks were augmented over the two-day rest period by the arrival of a number of horses from Caliente. Trainer M. H. Tichenor brought Tonopah Queen, The Marker, Moliere and two others for owner F. R. Short; A. J. Maloney arrived with Lisa Belle, Torquil, Double Kerry and Dan Toro; F. A. Sharkey brought Radio Hour and Pink Post Bruce Broadfoot had Imperial Bill and Serbian Rose and R. P. Knudson brought the veteran sprinter Mucker. Jockey Orville Norton was also an arrival from the Mexican track.
