VALDINA LOSES SWEEP MARE Sweep Over Dies Foaling Bay Filly by Oscillator Five More Filly Foals Arrive. HOUSTON, Texas, April 11. Valdina Farms reported the loss of one of its prized Sweep mares last week when Sweep Over, a daughter of Sweep and Poverina, died in foaling a bay filly by Osculator. Misfortune visited Valdina when a fine brown colt by Night Flyer Gold and Black, foaled on April 3, died April 9. It was the first colt foaled by Night Flyer since he produced Eagle Pass, one of the best ever , to carry the Valdina colors. Of the five live foals of last week, all are fillies, and there are now seventeen fillies and sixteen colts in the 1939 crop. Last weeks foals were: Brown filly, by Osculator Dustanna, Chestnut filly, by Osculator Anne. Bay filly, by Osculator Languorous. Bay filly, by Petrose Gala Gay. Bay filly, by Osculator Sweep Over. Anne and Languorous will be bred to Teddys Comet this season while Dustanna will visit Night Flyers court. Gala Gay is again booked to Petrose.
