WORK OVER SLOPPY FOOTING Decatur, Opelika Arrive at Keeneland and Are Given Their Training Gallops Tuesday Morning. LEXINGTON, Ky., April 11. J. Cal Milams Decatur and Opelika, which arrived here from Louisville yesterday, tested a sloppy track at Keeneland Park this morning. The Kentucky Derby eligibles were indulged in six furlongs drills and Opelika showed his fondness for the going by stepping the distance in 1:15. Decatur was timed in 1:19. Opelika reeled off a quarter in :24, the half in :49. Decaturs fractions were :26 and :53. Greentree Stables Third Degree, one of the leading candidates for the Derby and Blue Grass Stakes, gave a fine display of If his speed by running a half mile in :48. Syracuse, Shandon Farms Derby hope went five furlongs in 1:02, handily. He reeled off the half mile in :49. At Idle Hour Farm, Benefactor galloped a mile over the turf and pulled up in fine fettle. Col. E. R. Bradley, his owner, arrived here tonight and in all probability the horse will be called on for a work tomorrow. Benefactor wrenched a flexor tendon in his last work and since then has been considered a doubtful starter in the Blue Grass Stakes and Kentucky Derby.
