FLYING REX, slow to get going, moved up fast after finding an opening on the far turn and, easily overtaking GREY WEATHER in the stretch, drew out in the last eighth and won in hand. The latter went to the front early and, opening up a good lead, tired in the stretch. SHASTA KLICK raced well, but was unable to menace the first two. SALSITA tired in the stretch. HUNTERDON, off in front, dropped back off the pace, went to the outside entering the back stretch and, moving up steadily, came fast in the middle of the track through the final eighth and outgamed ROYAL ROVER in the final drive, winning narrowly. The latter, close up throughout, forged to the front midway of the far turn, drew out entering the stretch, but was unable to hold the winner in a drive. RUTH JELINEK, never far from the leaders and forced to take up slightly on the far turn, went to the outside entering the stretch and finished fairly well. JACONUT closed a ?ap on the inside. RUSTIC MISS had early speed, but tired. DIDUTELLUS had speed for half a mile. OVLOP went fairly well for half a mile. Corrected weight Rustic Miss, 111; Ovlop, 111. THIRD RACE 1 1-16 MILES. SUSPENSION, well rated close to the pace in the early stages, moved up steadily around the stretch turn and, although bearing out in the stretch, wore down FENCE RIDER to win under pressure. The latter went to the front early, set the pace under restraint and went fairly well to the finish. SAN RAMON saved ground while finding openings on the inside and was going well next to the rail at the end. BON JADE was forced to race wide while making her move and tired near the finish. EL PORTAL was in close quarters nearing the stretch turn. RUNANCONARD bore out badly on the first turn to seriously interfere with THE MARKER and PARLEY VOUS. SANTA MONICA tired. GROG, outrun a trifle in the early stages, moved, up fast through the stretch and, overtaking PRINCE BOW in the last eighth, held him safe in the drive. The latter got through an opening, took a short lead near the stretch turn and finished well. BINOCULAR was outrun to the stretch, then came fast. SAHARA CHIEF raced very wide in the stretch, but was going well at the end. HIGH MARIA and HAPPY DINAH tired after showing early speed.
