j KEENELAND TURF NOTES -4, The veteran Joe Dyer arrived Tuesday from Bowie and will ride free lance. Larry Bogenschutz, a member of the official family here, was an arrival Tuesday morning, coming from his home in Covington, Ky. Seven horses will sport the silks of Mrs. Ed Haughton at the local meetingL her husband trains them. The stable arrived here Saturday morning, coming from Miami. In the shipment to find quarters at Keene-land are Miss Lizzie, Brilliant Rock, Fay D., Barbara A., Bustle, Glasby and Hermosillo. Miss Firefly, Prince Fellow, Bold Lover and Fairest Flag, which arrived from Miami with others of the stable last week, were sent to Joe Pattersons farm "near here and will be turned out until next fall. Starter William Hamilton arrived from his home in Hot Springs, Ark. Tommy Oliphant, dean of mid-western timers, was an arrival from Louisville and joined the other dockers at Keeneland. Lester Pichons name was added to the riding list of the jockey colony when he checked in from Hot Springs Tuesday. Porter Roberts and his agent, Hubert Taylor, arrived Tuesday morning, coming from their homes in Covington, Ky., where they have been vacationing for a week. Charles "Chuck" Charlton, one of the leading apprentice riders in the country, arrived Tuesday morning from Miami and reported to Ed Haughton, his contract employer. Charlton won the first race of his career last fall at Latonia. He was one of the leading apprentice riders at Miami, scoring with nearly sixty of his mounts since the first of January. Horsemen are high in their praise of the youngster, and Haughton is confident his rider will lead all reinsmen at Keeneland.
