! DETROIT TURF NOTES t o — i C. C. Winters, Detroit business man, has Bald Crest, French Bread, Pokeaway, Star Struck, Legion, Night Editor, Dear Me, Lady Tichner and Franco Saxon quartered at the Fair Grounds. Sleep Along, Florid and Busy Spain, which were turned out at the Shaffer farm during the winter, have been returned to training by George Neel. Little Drift, the property of M. E. Martin, arrived from Maryland. Apprentice George Martin, who rode his first winner at Hot Springs, checked in from Maryland. Fourteen horses, the property of A. J. Halliwell, Canadian sportsman, arrived from Narragansett Park. Mike Mitchell, Sr., chief assistant to Des Dressen, motored from his home at Covington. George Lewis, manager of the mutuel departments at Thistle Down3 and River I Downs, came in from Hollywood, Florida, where he spent the winter. Lewis again will be in charge of figuring the odds for the I approximate board.
