W00LF0RD STRING TO CRETE Formidable Kansas City Horsemans Stable to Make Its Presence Felt at Lincoln Fields Meeting. CHICAGO, 111., May 17.— Herbert M. Woolfs Woolford Farm stable, which makes its presence felt wherever it goes, will make Lincoln Fields, where the season begins next Thursday, May 25, its next point of operation. The stable will invade this sector nearly 40 strong and, under the capable handling of trainer Ben A. Jones, is almost certain to take down its share of the more than 00,000 , prize money, which will be distributed during the twenty-seven days the Crete track runs. Just now the Woolford Farm is going great guns at Churchill Downs, where it was sent following a successful winter campaign in Florida. On Derby day at the Downs, the Maroon and white silks of the Kansas City merchant and turf patron flashed across the line of finish in front three times, although the stables Derby starter, Technician, went unplaced. Since then the stable has won many more races. According to present plans the string will be raced at Lincoln Fields and Arlington Park, and then will be shipped eastward to New York. JOE SCIIENCK MAY START. Woolford Farm made numerous nominations to Lincoln Fields eleven stakes and, in Joe Schenck, may have a starter in the tracks inaugural feature, the six furlongs Crete Handicap, which is to be contested for a ,500 added purse. Some of the other horses in the stable which are expected to show to advantage at Lincoln Fields, arc Robert L., winner of two races at Churchill Downs this spring; Insco-lad, Sherron Ann, Rifted Clouds, Unerring, Spin On, Inscolassie, Finella, Sabariel and possibly Technician. The latter is being given a rest following a hard winter and spring campaign and he may not be seen under colors until late in the Lincoln Fields meeting, although it is the plan of trainer Jones to bring him along with the rest of the Woolf horses. The Woolf stable will arrive here early next week, and will be put away in quarters already in order for it.
