1 CHURCHILL DOWNS NOTES I and — $ William E. Smith, member of the Kentucky Racing Commission, will be represented during the Lincoln Fields meeting by eight horses, which trainer J. T. Weaver will transfer to the Windy City Sunday. The stable includes Miss Sarah, Copper Rod, City Talk, Fire Wing, My-Gal-Sal, Bar More, Spanish Party and Buffalo Bill. F. J. Demary, owner of .the Border Farm Stable, has made arrangements for the shipment of his stable to North Randall at the conclusion of the Churchill Downs meeting. Apprentice Murphy Trahan will accompany the shipment to the Cleveland course. The dozen or more horses Edward Haugh-ton will race at Hollywood Park leave Sunday over the Santa Fe for the California course. Charles Charlton, general regarded as one of the best apprentices in many years, is going to the Golden State to do the riding for the Texas turfman. Trainer D. E. Stewart sent Leonissa to the Elmendorf Farm, where she will be turned out. Six of the horses Stewart is training for Joseph E. Widener and Mrs. P. A. B. Widener will be transferred to Lincoln Fields Saturday, while the others are scheduled for shipment Monday. One car of Woolford Farm horses is pulling out of the Churchill Downs loading chute for Lincoln Fields Thursday. Another will follow Sunday and several head in this large string may be vanned to the Illinois track. G. H. "Burly" Morton, foreman of the Friedberg and Axton stable, trained by Jack Hanover, was reported doing favorably following a serious operation at City Hospital several days ago. Charles Kenney, manager of the Coldstream Stud, was a visitor at Churchill Downs Wednesday. He inspected the E. Dale Shaffer horses here in charge of D. T. Morris. Kenney reported that Laila Wild, dam of the Kentucky Oaks winner Flying Lill, has a daughter by Coldstream at her side. This season Laila Wild visited the court of Bull Dog, one of the countrys outstanding sires, imported by Charles B. Shaffer, owner of Coldstream Stud. Kirby Ramseys big stable leaves Sunday night for Lincoln Fields. He is negotiating for several horses and may have twenty for racing at the Crete track. The Friedberg and Axton thoroughbreds will be transferred to Lincoln Fields Sunday night, trainer Jack Hanover stated. These local patrons are sending seventeen to the Illinois track. The horses trained by Ralph Mcllvain and A. L. Taylor concluded activities here Wednesday and will leave for Detroit Thursday night.
