AT POST — 5J minutes. Start good and slow. Won driving; second and third the same. SUPREMA came over fast from the outside after the start and caused some crowding, responded to urging in the final eighth and outlasted WHOOSH at the finish. The latter was bothered and forced to take up, was then sent up fast and closed gamely in the final drive. WANNA HYGRO broke in a tangle out of hand, improved her position under pressure, hung slightly in the final eighth and then came again in the final few strides. HUNTING SONG was in close quarters in the early running and finished on her own courage nearing the finish. WATERTOWN raced well and had no mishaps. BUFFOON closed ground steadily. YELLOW DUST had no mishaps in the running. STINGING showed an even effort. KING NEPTUNE raced well. WHITE HOPE raced well. KICKSHAW raced greenly throughout. Won easily; second and third driving. SAILOR BEWARE showed speed while jumping well, was rated along under steady restraint and finished with speed in reserve. GAY CHARLES was under restraint the first turn of the field, improved his position when urged, but swerved at the final fence and then hung at the finish. BRANT was rated along steadily while jumping well, moved up on the outside in the final three-quarters and then finished on the inside. SUMATRA was well up from the start, but slipped on the flat going to the third jump and showed a good effort. ERAN DE PERSE was taken back in the early running and then made up some ground. NATIONAL ANTHEM had no mishaps in the running. SHIP EXECUTIVE lacked early speed. BUCK LANGHORNE tired after going a mile. PAPER MAKER tired badly after making several bobbles at his fences. WATCH OVER moved into command at the start and showed speed throughout, responded to urging rounding the stretch turn, shook off SUNGINO and had speed in reserve. SUNGINO moved up with a rush rounding the far turn, came -to the outside entering the stretch and then faltered at the finish. CHIEF GAMBLE dropped far out of it after the start and then closed fast over tired horses. ONE-TENTH made a determined bid rounding the far turn and then quit. Won driving; second and third easily. SWEEPSTAFF was sent into command at the start and showed speed while saving ground, responded in the final eighth and outlasted CISNEROS in the final drive. The latter was urged along in the early running, came to the outside of the leaders entering the stretch, moved up gamely and then hung at the finish. MARY SCHULZ was eased back when outrun in the early stages, came through along the inside in the stretchy run and outfinished HARVESTING. The latter, a forward factor from the start, came again in the final sixteenth. FLAT LANCE was outrun the first part and made up ground slowly at the end. STAR RUNNER was sent into command with a rush, was kept under urging all the way, bore out slightly rounding the stretch turn and bumped WHITE MASK and then hung at the finish. The latter, in nearest pursuit of the pace from the start while on the outside, made a determined bid in the stretch run, but then faltered at the finish. FOXSHADE ran in spots and had no mishaps.
